Let’s talk about women’s-only care and how we’re reinventing it at Coachella Valley Recovery Center.
Substance use disorder (SUD) affects millions of women across the globe, posing unique challenges that require specialized treatment approaches. Women face different social, psychological, and physical issues compared to men when dealing with addiction. This means that effective treatment programs for women must address these unique needs, offering comprehensive and personalized care to support their journey to recovery. Below, we’ll dive into women’s-only care and how we’re reinventing it at Coachella Valley Recovery Center.
Women often face gender-specific issues that can complicate their substance use disorders. These may include trauma from domestic violence, sexual abuse, and other forms of gender-based violence. Women are also more likely to have co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD. On top of that, societal roles and responsibilities, such as caregiving for children or elderly parents, can create barriers to seeking and maintaining treatment.
Recognizing these challenges, specialized women’s treatment programs have been developed to provide a safe and supportive environment where women can focus on their recovery without the added pressures of mixed-gender settings. At Coachella Valley Recovery Center, we offer a holistic approach, integrating physical health, mental health, and emotional well-being into each bespoke treatment plan.
Coachella Valley Recovery Center’s Women's Treatment Track stands out as the only women-only inpatient treatment in the Coachella Valley, providing a holistic approach to women's health. Here, we address co-occurring mental health issues, including PTSD, depression, and anxiety, and are equipped to take higher acuity clients, offering specialized tracks for military sexual trauma and traumatic brain injury (TBI). With the recent addition of Dr. Olatunde Bosu, a Yale Medical School graduate specializing in family practice and addiction, as the full-time Medical Director, Coachella Valley Recovery Center ensures top-notch medical care tailored to the unique needs of women.
From the moment women step through the doors, they become part of a lifelong recovery community.
